We are going after some pretty awesome headliners this year, one that has played before and several new ones to fill our 3 headlining spots this year. We can’t wait to share the lineup with you on June 3rd!

Submissions are open until April 15th. A secondary online poll to select the final six spots will run for a week in May. The lineup will be announced and tickets go on sale Monday, June 3rd.
Changes to Midwest Fest!
After 2 years of the current “method”, Midwest Fest will see some fairly large changes this year: First and foremost, the festival is changing venues. This year’s event will be held at Hunter’s Ale House! This new location allows for the other changes to take place. This year’s festival will be open to everyone 18+ with proper ID, allowing a lot more of the community to attend. Also, we will be having 2 stages at Hunter’s, allowing us to make the event a Thursday-Saturday affair instead of Tuesday-Saturday, while still having 27 bands. Submissions will open Friday, March 1 at www.mwfest.com and the lineup will be announced June 3.
Midwest Fest VI will be Thursday, September 26-Saturday, September 28 with a kickoff party on Wednesday, September 25 @ location TBD.
The other main change this year is the way the lineup will be chosen. We will yet again have a panel that reviews each and every band that applies, but this time number of bands from each category is different and will make for a more rounded lineup. Also, we have about 8 NEW judges this year from varying backgrounds with a wide range of musical tastes. Just because a band that has applied in the past has or has not made the lineup will really be for naught this year, as the panel will most likely find much different results.
We’re expecting very big things this year. A venue change, the ability to host bigger bands thanks to bigger capacity, and likely more sponsorship opportunities as well….we’re aiming high for the 3 headliners and we hope to receive even more than the 192 open submissions that set the bar last year.
