Frontier Ruckus headlines the final night of Midwest Fest just two weeks from tomorrow night. They played the original Midwest Fest in 2008 and also headlined in 2011. We’re so excited to have them back again!

We haven’t been able to post much here from MWFest HQ this summer due to insufferable internet. GOOD NEWS THOUGH: We get web from a new provider starting tomorrow!
This means you can expect to see daily updates, finally some band bios, and the ever popular MWFest Mixtape.
Stay tuned, and thanks for bearing with us.

Last year, a new band to Midwest Fest - Carielle - wowed us with their energetic live show and superb musicianship. Is your band that rare gem for us this year?

A bit of a schedule change tonight
Due to the township noise ordinance that they didn’t even know existed, but some angry caller sure knew about, we’ve had to adjust the set times for tonight. They’ll now be as follows:
Dead Rover 7:45-8:15p - MMR Patio Stage
Hawk & Son 8:30-9:00p - MMR Patio Stage
the Watching Eyes 9:05-9:35p - Mt. Pleasant Brewing Main Stage
Carielle 9:40-10:10p - MMR Patio Stage
Killer Kong 10:15-10:45p - Mt. Pleasant Brewing Main Stage
Pioneer Parade 10:50-11:20p - MMR Patio Stage
Moses 11:25p-12:10a - Mt. Pleasant Brewing Main Stage
Crane Wives 12:30a-end - Mt. Pleasant Brewing Main Stage
Tickets are still available for $8 online or at the door. We accept cash or credit/debit at the door. Don’t miss out. Help us keep Midwest Fest going next year by coming and supporting a night filled with several local bands as well as some great up and coming bands from around the state and arguably Michigan’s hottest band right now: The Crane Wives headlining the night and closing out MWFest chapter 6!

Changes to Midwest Fest!
After 2 years of the current “method”, Midwest Fest will see some fairly large changes this year: First and foremost, the festival is changing venues. This year’s event will be held at Hunter’s Ale House! This new location allows for the other changes to take place. This year’s festival will be open to everyone 18+ with proper ID, allowing a lot more of the community to attend. Also, we will be having 2 stages at Hunter’s, allowing us to make the event a Thursday-Saturday affair instead of Tuesday-Saturday, while still having 27 bands. Submissions will open Friday, March 1 at www.mwfest.com and the lineup will be announced June 3.
Midwest Fest VI will be Thursday, September 26-Saturday, September 28 with a kickoff party on Wednesday, September 25 @ location TBD.
The other main change this year is the way the lineup will be chosen. We will yet again have a panel that reviews each and every band that applies, but this time number of bands from each category is different and will make for a more rounded lineup. Also, we have about 8 NEW judges this year from varying backgrounds with a wide range of musical tastes. Just because a band that has applied in the past has or has not made the lineup will really be for naught this year, as the panel will most likely find much different results.
We’re expecting very big things this year. A venue change, the ability to host bigger bands thanks to bigger capacity, and likely more sponsorship opportunities as well….we’re aiming high for the 3 headliners and we hope to receive even more than the 192 open submissions that set the bar last year. Stay tuned on March 1st for the announcement and opening of this year’s submissions.
